His Majesty King Abdullah the Second laid the cornerstone for the JPMC-IFFCO joint venture (JIFCO).
The JIFCO project, upon completion, is expected to produce 1500MT of Phosphoric Acid per day . JPMC will be supplying around two million tons of rock phosphate from surrounding mines.
During the ceremony, His Majesty King Abdullah received a sample of Jordan’s first Yellow Cake manufactured by JPMC. According to JPMC officials, yellow cake production in commercial quantities will commence in the near future.
Eng. Mohammad Baderkhan, Deputy CEO Finance and Administration presented to His Majesty King Abdullah a brief about JPMC’s upcoming projects. Those projects above $1.3 Billion in investments are expected to be realized by 2013. Those projects are:
1. Expansion and revamp for the Aqaba Industrial Complex
2. JIFCO, The production of Phosphoric Acid
3. JAFCO, The production of different kinds of phosphate and potash fertilizers
4. The construction of a new export terminal for rock phosphate in Aqaba
5. Upgrade and expansion of the Industrial Jetty
6. A Joint venture in Indonesia with Petrokimia Gresik
